Growing up with Sean, I was at the Cooneys’ house often. Mary was always so nice and happy to host Sean’s friends when we needed a place to hang out as bored kids in Medford. One of my fondest (and funniest) memories of Mary was Halloween when Sean and I were in middle school. We were trick-or-treating through Tamarac when we were walking through someone’s front yard. Little did I know, there was a fish pond in the yard and I tripped into it as I couldn’t see it in the night. Sean heard a commotion, walked near to where I was to ask what happened, and in the process, also fell in. We were both soaked (and our pillow cases full of candy) and trekked back to the house to get a change of clothes. For some reason Sean had no clean socks to lend me, so, after laughing hysterically at what happened, Mary graciously offered me a pair of her socks and we headed back out for more candy. One of many great memories! Mary will be missed dearly.
