I just learned today about Norma's passing, and I am so sad to hear that she is gone. She will be remembered. To my friend Bockett, your families, and your friends, I personally share your grief, and I offer my deepest condolences.
I was privileged to know her and to instruct her as student, a private pilot, and later as a instrument pilot. Norma taught me the Boating Safety course and the endorsement on my license will remind me always of her knowledge and devotion to the Coast Guard auxiliary.
Her personal, academic, and professional accomplishments speak to her determination, enthusiasm and her intellect. Those who know Norma know she had a great personality-she laughed easily and had a wonderful positive outlook. She had true grit. She took life's adventures "by the horns", and inspired everyone she met to live life fully.
I am so very glad I got to know her, and will always remember her kindness.
