Rich, I will miss hearing you call out "hey, HOH", like no one else. I will miss dinners where you had wine, coke and coffee in front of you before dinner started; I will miss how, after hearing just a few bars of a song, you never missed the name of that song, who sang it and usually the year it was on the charts!! You were the best brother in law!!! You were a soldier who pushed thru with your life no matter and showed the world a strong, resilient person.
You stayed calm and carried on. You showed patience in so many ways. There's a whole bunch more I'll miss.
When you passed, I saw you walking into Heaven with Jesus' arm over your shoulder telling you how much he loved you. "and he walks with me, and he talks with me, and he tells me I'm his own".............

Pop pop was a man with so many great qualities. Most obviously, he was an MS warrior who enjoyed life to the fullest despite his disease. Whether it was eating 4 ears of corn on the cob in a single sitting, emphatically talking about whatever show he was watching at the time (ahem… madame secretary), or feeding Gemma under the table, he always looked truly happy and like he truly enjoyed the little things. I will always remember him trying to relate to us by asking us who the “popular group” was these days, though he almost never knew them. He always took an interest in his grandchildren’s lives and made us feel like he was genuinely interested in how we were doing. Even when pop pop started becoming forgetful, he tried to keep up with our current jobs/relationships/hobbies. As his granddaughter, I always knew I was loved and supported by this man no matter what. Pop pop was a wonderful human being that we all learned so many things from. He taught us to really enjoy life, to be resilient and to appreciate what you have instead of dwelling on what you don’t. I have so many fond memories of my grandfather and will pass them on to my daughter.
When I started meeting my soon-to-be husband's extended family, I loved that my he still called Richard "Unkie Rich." The staying power of that nickname over many years immediately told me that Unkie Rich was a special person - and indeed he was always so kind and welcoming to me. I will always appreciate that!
RICH WAS THE LITTLE BOTHER I NEVER HAD. WE MET WHEN HE WAS 16 AND WE GOT ALONG FAMOUSLY. MY HEART ACHES FOR THE LOSS OF SUCH A SPECIAL HUMAN BEING. HOPEFULLY, HE IS IN A BETTER PLACE. HUGS AND KISSES 'TIL WE MEET AGAIN.

My dad was always willing to help. He was a great listener. He loved his family and took great care of everyone. He never complained. We will all miss him very much.
