Richard Joseph Grunsby Jr.'s Obituary
Richard Joseph Grunsby, Jr. passed away peacefully on September 9, 2015, with his family at his side at his home in Maple Shade, NJ. He was 82 years old.
Richard was the beloved husband of Evelyn Lois (nee Kauffman ) for 60 years. Loving father of Kathy Kennedy (William) of South Brunswick, NJ, and Karen Grunsby (John Weber) of Proctor, VT. Dear grandfather of Christopher Kennedy (Katie), Brandon Richard Kennedy (Megan Schneider), and Stefanie Ann Francis (Joe). Great grandfather of Baby Jack (deceased)Gavin Michael and Trent Christopher (Kennedy). Loving brother of Suzanne Bartello (Bill, both deceased),Joan Marie Grunsby, Bernadette McGeoch (the late James), and Ronald Grunsby, (Virginia). Richard is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Richard proudly served in the U.S. Army First Armored Div. as an armored vehicle mechanic in Ft. Hood, Texas. Following his service he worked for the Moorestown Board of Education and retired as their Transportation Supervisor. He returned to work at Kennedy Memorial Hospital as a facility painter, and once again retired to devote his time to his growing family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Richard’s life celebration at Inglesby/Givnish, 600 East Main St., on Monday September 14, from 8:30 am – 10:30 am. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main St., Maple Shade. Interment in Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
