Ricky Lee Sibley's Obituary
Ricky Lee Sibley, known to many as Rick S., age 76, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 19, 2026, in the comfort of his home in Mount Laurel, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 30, 1949, in Downing, Missouri.
Rick proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and devoted 30 years to military service. Through dedication and leadership, he rose through the enlisted ranks to Master Chief before becoming a Supply Corps Officer. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant Commander, earning numerous medals and commendations in recognition of his distinguished career. Following his retirement from the Navy, Rick continued his professional life with 19 years of service in administrative roles within the mortgage industry.
A friend of Bill W. for 48 years, Rick leaves behind a wide circle of cherished friends whose lives were touched by his honesty, generosity, and steadfast support.
Rick had many passions, including rescuing and caring for stray animals, cycling, working out, baking Christmas cookies, and following his favorite football teams. Above all else, his greatest joy was being “Papaw” to his precious grandson, Elliott.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Carole; his daughter, Erica, and her husband, Nick, and their son; his nephew, Dax; and his devoted rescue kitty, Scooter. His memory will live on through his family, whose lives were deeply enriched by his unwavering love, kindness, and support.
A memorial service celebrating Rick’s life will be held later this year at the family cemetery in Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick’s memory may be made to the Food Bank of South Jersey, Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter, or any local food bank or animal shelter
