I first knew Bob when I joined the Knights of Columbus in 1988. Over the years, I saw him in many l roles. With the Knights, he was always volunteering to chair a function or lend a helping hand. He was a good Christian man always helping his church. I said for many years he was a living saint with the way he took care of his loving Marie. He visited her daily in the nursing home and stayed the entire day. As a Eucharistic Minister, he brought communion to the residents of the nursing home and to the homebound of the parish.
Bob was skilled as a cook. If the Knights or the parish held a breakfast, dinner, or special occasion, he volunteered his services to help prepare the food.
In recent recent years, I was honored to join him and our mutual friend Harry for periodic lunches. He was always upbeat and his laugh was infectious. Bob became Harry's chauffeur when Harry could no longer drive. That says volumes about how kind-hearted Bob was.
He was an all-around great guy. He will be missed by so many people. I feel my life is richer for having known him. .
