Robert H. Busch's Obituary
Robert H. Busch, 84, of Edgewater Park, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2024. Born on August 9, 1940, in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of the late Herbert and Helen Busch.
Robert was the devoted husband of the late Marie Busch (née Moffa), sharing 59 cherished years together before her passing. He was the loving father of Jennifer Merrill (Joseph) and Michael Busch, the proud grandfather of Dasia, Jennifer, Erica, Michael, Melanie, and Joey “JT”, and the adoring great-grandfather of Emmie, Sebastian, and Eliana. He was also the dear brother of the late Herb and the late Joyce.
Robert will be deeply missed by his best friend Harry, his breakfast club companions, and his many friends at the Knights of Columbus and the Senior Center.
A proud veteran, Robert served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Known for his outgoing and social nature, he could often be found enjoying breakfast with friends or a lively game of bingo. He was a passionate Eagles and Phillies fan, an avid cook, and a cherished family chef, renowned for his lasagna and antipasto. His family lovingly remembers his humor, especially when reminiscing about his “heavy foot” while driving.
A man of deep Catholic faith, Robert served as a deacon at St. Joseph’s Church in Beverly, NJ, and took great pride in his service to the church. He often spoke fondly of his days playing football for Camden High School but found his greatest joy in the love and dedication he gave to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Church in Beverly, NJ, from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Monument Cemetery in Edgewater Park, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Robert’s memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.lbda.org.
