What a blessing it was to have Rose (Mrs. Bell) as our adopted Senior Friend in the Kindergarten class at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School. Rose was not part of the program 10 years ago when I first met her, but rather a driver for the class Senior Friend, Mrs. Theresa Miller. Each class event, Rose would stay and just loved the interaction with the children and they loved her, too! Finally, I put my foot down and declared her our Senior Friend and told the children how lucky we were to have two wonderful Grandmoms in our room.
It is an amazing accomplishment to say that Rose touched the lives of over 200 children in our school from K through 8 who had the opportunity to be loved by her and though she told me over and over again to call her Rose, I still said, Mrs. Bell.
Well, Mrs. Bell, Rose, the children and I will miss you. Godspeed you home.
