Rose S. Bell's Obituary
Rose Bell (nee Smith) of Maple Shade died peacefully at home on February 2nd. She was pre - deceased by her husband Joseph Bell, her siblings J. Edmund, Robert, Esther Smith, and Alma Brennan, her grandson Nathan, and great grand-daughter Elizabeth.
Rose is survived by her 7 children: Joseph (Rosemary) of Blufton SC, Thomas (Betty) of Moorestown NJ, David (Kathy) of La Grangeville NY, Rosemary Cooper of Souderton PA, Elizabeth Waterhouse (John) of Pittsgrove NJ, James of Maple Shade NJ, and Martin (Maureen) of Maple Shade NJ, 17 Grandchildren, and 19 Great Grandchildren, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Rose was born in Philadelphia on February 27, 1918, She was a 1936 graduate of Hallahan High School, and moved to Maple Shade in 1949.
Rose was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and member of the church choir. She was active as a homemaker, a talented seamstress, scout leader, and hair stylist. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, and pianist for the Footlighters of South Jersey. She played piano well into her 80’s at nursing homes and for the Degree of Pocahontas.
Rose will be remembered for her extraordinary musical talent. But she will be most remembered by those who knew her as a compassionate, generous person who was able to make people who knew her feel better about themselves.
Relatives and Friends are invited to Rose’s Life Celebration at Inglesby/Givnish of Maple Shade 600 East Main St on Friday February 7, 2014 from 7:00 till 9:00 pm and Saturday from 9:30 till 10:30 a.m. followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church .
