I had the opportunities to referee numerous games with Rudy. Always there to mentor and share experiences with me. He will be missed and at the same time remembered as a very good person who truly embraced all who knew him.

I loved Rudy like a brother! There are many special memories that I have of him! There is one that stands out that I think shows the character of this man
There was an incident at a union meeting where I was having an argument with a member. It looked like it may turn into a physical fight. This gentleman was much larger and younger then myself. He probably would have gotten the better of me. He eventually just walked away. Everyone had cleared out! When I looked around,there was Rudy. He was just inches away and ready to jump in! He had my back! I was truly blessed to have a friend who would do that for me! I don’t think you have many opportunities to have a friend like that in this life! I have a very heavy heart in telling this story. I was blessed to have known him and call him my friend.
