Rudy J. Blanco
Rudy J. Blanco, age 67, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2018 at Neighborhood Health Hospice in West Chester, PA. A native of Nicaragua, Rudy was a resident of Willingboro, NJ for almost 40 years.
Rudy had a lifelong passion for soccer and was an avid soccer player in Nicaragua. His love for the game translated in his move to New Jersey where he served as a coach, trainer and referee. In 1996, Rudy was honored as Referee of the Year by the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association. Rudy was inducted into the South Jersey Coaches Association Hall of Fame on May 15, 2015.
For 42 years, Rudy was the loving husband of the late Gladys Blanco. He was also the beloved father of Suki (Harry) Cann and grandfather of Chandlee and Tyler. Rudy will also be fondly remembered by his sisters Marcia and Norma Blanco and his brothers Pablo Omar Blanco and Huber Blanco.
Family and friends will gather on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Givnish Funeral Home, 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, NJ. A Funeral service in memory of Rudy will be held immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Lakeview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rudy may be made to the South Jersey Soccer League, care of Larry Young, 59 Quail Hollow Drive, Westhampton, NJ 08060.
