Samuel S. Whitcraft, Jr.
September 24, 1946 – January 10, 2015
Sam Whitcraft passed away suddenly on January 10, 2015, in his home at 68 years of age. He was a long time resident of Maple Shade, New Jersey. Son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Whitcraft. Husband of Routh Ellen (nee Fink) Whitcraft, who passed away in March, 2004. Sam was fortunate to make a career doing what he loved, as Master Technician and Assistant Curator of the Wanamaker Organ at Macy’s in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a vintage automobile, clock, piano/organ and victrola enthusiast. Sam was an active member of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America, NJ Region Chevrolet Club, Plymouth Owners Club of the Delaware Valley Region, Friends of the Wanamaker Organ, The Music Box Society, Miniature Piano Enthusiast Club, and the Crosley Automobile Club. Sam is survived by several cousins in the tri-state area and many long time friends who will truly miss him.
Relatives and friends are invited to join in Sam’s Life Celebration on February 28, 2015, at the Inglesby/Givinish Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Maple Shade, NJ, 08052. (856)779-7900. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 12 Noon, followed by a memorial service at 1 PM. Burial will be private at a later date.
