Stephen L. Kakas, Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees. Born in Philadelphia, Stephen was 93 years old. He was a life long resident of Maple Shade. Beloved husband of 42 years t Read Obituary

I loved my father Stephen Kakas Sr. very much. He had a long and helpful life. May he rest in peace.
Uncle Steve was Great Man. A great example for us young ones at the time I knew him. Loved the Scouts, loved to cook on the Sundays we came to visit with family. Fondest memory was his cassette tape collection of something funny like Abbot and Costello recordings from the radio. Or bringing my cousins old bike, that I desperately wanted for my Birthday
Steve as a friend and brother scout. He Juan Garcia and I were Vigil Brothers in the Scouting Orgination's Order of the Arrow. The three of us spent our Vigil on the same night. God's speed brother.
Mr. Kakas was an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 11 in Maple Shade, when I joined the Troop from Cub Scouts. Not long thereafter he became our Scoutmaster. He devoted himself to our growth as Scouts and young men. The role he played in developing the character and lives of countless Scouts is immeasurable. Practical, a teacher, and a prankster.
