Stephen L. Kakas Sr.'s Obituary
Stephen L. Kakas, Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees. Born in Philadelphia, Stephen was 93 years old. He was a life long resident of Maple Shade. Beloved husband of 42 years to the late Marjorie Kakas. Loving father of Lee (Ruby) Paul, the late Gary Paul, Bruce (Faith) Paul and Stephen L. Kakas, Jr., Cherished Grandpop to Jennifer, Christopher, Michael, Audra, Amber and Richard. Great Grandpop to Conor and David. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Stephen was the last surviving sibling of eleven brothers and sisters.
Stephen proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was an appliance repairman for Sears in Pennsauken. Stephen was a Boy Scout team leader and was very involved with Maple Shade Little League for many years.
He enjoyed watching Matlock, Hungarian Opera, Old Game Shows and many other old TV shows “When TV shows were Good” and black and white movies. Stephen enjoyed Hotdogs and Rootbeer at Webbers.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, November 2nd, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Givnish of Maple Shade 600 East Main Street.
Stephen’s Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m.
Burial, with Military Honors, will take place at Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
