Big Mac - Rest in Peace! First met Steve like Bernie after moving back to NJ from MD in 1976. We were both in Father Jim Dever's youth group at St. Charles. Steve was an intellectual in a working man's body. Perfect mixture of EQ and IQ. Steve never hit the Easy Button. When we were both injured in Freshman football, we were relegated to water boys. Steve pushed us to be the best damn water boy duo Cinnaminson ever saw. A natural born leader, Steve always inspired others to be better. Another example is when we built an electric car in Physics class senior year, Steve had the car in his garage and ran the show. We spent countless hours trying to perfect a car that was to race the other car built by the class geeks. Steve convinced us we had it in the bag. We got to race day in front of the whole school at the track around the football field. Right before race day, we realized that the polarity on the battery chargers was reversed from the night before and we had just enough juice to get to the starting line. At race time, the geek's car took off and eight of us stood there watching Steve drive a car that sputtered several feet and stopped. Utter embarrassment. Steve kept his head high and told us it was the journey that counted and we should be proud of all that we learned in the process. The Physics teacher, Mr. Perry, didn't agree and gave us all D's. Wish I could be there for your viewing Steve. You are now one for the ages. God Bless and we'll have a green beer in heaven one day :) With love, Dan, Rosie, Casey, Stephanie and Christopher Poore
