My family met Vito when his son Vinnie opened his restaurant and we stayed faithful patrons. Through the years, we became good friends and like family.
I had my first date there with my Kathleen and we shared many good dinners, birthday parties and family outings there. I proposed and gave Kathleen her engagement ring there.
Vito was a good man and a good friend. We had some nice talks about Italy and Sicily that Vito had pictures on his phone. He was a friendly face you saw as soon as you walked into the restaurant. We shared our love of Sicilian eggplant and where to find them. He even showed Kathleen how to make one of his specialties.
Kathleen and I will miss seeing Vito and talking with him and Angela. I will miss bringing him his monthly Beverly Bee.
