I had the pleasure of knowing Walter through his relationship with Jess. He was always the gentleman who engaged in a conversation with myself and others as if he has known us for many years. As a part of our WOW group he was an asset to our group sharing his engaging personality with us all. Until we saw the whites of his eyes and his friendly expressive smile the luncheon table rebounded with the question, "Where's Walter?"
Some of the widows of our group would say to Jess, "We want to find a Walter!" which exemplifies just how special Walter was!
As for me personally conversations with Walter involved a Yachtie vs a Sailor conversations with experiences on the waterways! Our talks might involve ports, experiences, love of the water or tying the appropriate knots needed. Walter was a Renaissance man and it has been a great pleasure knowing him. Kathi Turner
