Dr. Walter W. Holl Jr.'s Obituary
Dr. Walter W. Holl, Jr., a distinguished chemist and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023, at the age of 91. Born on September 4, 1932, in Camden, NJ, Walter was the son of the late Walter W. Holl, Sr., and Angeles Holl (nee Hall). He was a devoted husband, married for 65 years to the late Rose Holl (nee Freeman), a loving father to Chris Holl (Jerry), Randy Holl (Dawn), Eric Holl (Laura), and the late Thomas Holl (Michele). He was a cherished grandfather to Wyatt, Nicholas, Patrick, Maxwell, Erica, Nicole, Rebecca, Kyle, and Daniel and a great-grandfather to 11. Walter will leave behind his companion of several years, Jessica. Walter was predeceased by his siblings, the late Marilyn and the late Frederick. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends.
Walter's life was marked by his passion for chemistry, leading him to earn a Ph.D. in the field. Walter was a graduate of Temple University and Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He dedicated his career to various companies, most recently at GlaxoSmithKline, and prior to that, at Merck. Outside of work, Walter's adventurous spirit led him to the waters, where he indulged his love for sailing at the Riverton Yacht Club. He also soared to great heights as a pilot, finding solace in the skies, and embraced the thrill of skiing during winter. Walter took pride as an active member of United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, November 4th, at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm.
