William E. Goldy's Obituary
William E. Goldy passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024. Born in Philadelphia to William H. and Helene P. (Downey) Goldy, Bill was 76 years old.
He was a resident of Marlton since 2017 and formerly lived in Pennsauken and spent his early years in the Paradise section of Philadelphia.
Beloved husband of 49 years to Catherine M. (McCloskey) Goldy. Loving father of William (Megan) Goldy, Patricia (Sean) Gardner, and Mary Kate Goldy.
Cherished grandfather of Abigail and Claire Gardner and Lucy Jude Goldy.
Dear brother of Helena (Dennis) Kirschner.
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
As a medic/Corpsman in the U.S. Air Force, Bill proudly served his country during the War in Southeast Asia, including a deployment with the 3rd Division, 3rd Marines in Laos.
After his military service, Bill continued working in orthopedics and retired after a lengthy career with DynaSplint Systems as a sales consultant.
When his children were younger, Bill devoted his spare time working with the Pennsauken Youth Action Committee summer theater, building sets and producing shows. An involved parent, Bill worked behind the scenes with the Pennsauken High School Marching Band and Indoor Guard. He supported his three children and their varying extracurricular activities, and was often found on the sidelines cheering or camping in the woods--always with a Wawa coffee cup in hand.
Bill was an avid reader, and enjoyed fishing and golfing (including participating in the PGA HOPE program), and especially loved spending quality time with his family and dear friends.
